Matt Poepsel

About

Matt leads Professional Services, and has been at The Predictive Index for eight years. He is responsible for our worldwide consultants’ delivery of talent optimization applications through workshops and packaged consulting. His team includes experts in fields ranging from management consulting, industrial-organizational psychology, instructional design, and research. As a chief evangelist of the talent optimization discipline, he is a regular author and speaker on talent-related business issues and solutions.  Previously, he served as VP of Product and Professional Services at Gomez, a web-based software performance monitoring service. While there, he was trained in PI; the company used it to improve sales team hiring outcomes and performance. Matt led the worldwide team of product, sales engineering, and post-sale consulting professionals. They built that venture-backed company from $0, and it was later acquired by Compuware Corporation. Prior to Gomez, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Arabic linguist and Reconnaissance Marine.  Matt holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Capella University where his doctoral work involved technology-assisted coaching. He also holds an MBA and an M.S. in Management Information Systems from Boston University.  Matt lives on Cape Cod with his bride, three children, a horse, a dog, a cat, and two fish—sheer madness. He is an IRONMAN triathlete and he prepares an elaborate football feast every New England Patriots game day.
