Silo Busting Through Leadership Development Strategies

Bose is building bridges between siloed divisions with their “Enterprise Leadership” development strategy with comprehensive and innovative approaches to instill new behaviors at all levels. Learn about a new way of approaching mobility with Bose’s Gig Marketplace, where internal candidates are matched with project needs across the company to create experiences that allow employees to grow through job shadowing, short-term assignments, and project work. The program is a direct response to employees’ expressed desire – through surveys and discussion – for opportunities to expand their skills and competencies, and deliberately begins seeding cross functional, enterprise thinking and Bose business acumen, as participants gain exposure and experience working outside of their functional areas. Bose launched Gig Marketplace as a pilot program in October 2018 and it has grown significantly in size and scope with gig opportunities now reflective of every business function across the organization and host locations and employee participation open to the US, APAC, and Europe.You will also hear how Bose is partnering with MCG Partners on a targeted, senior leader cohort based curriculum that is razor focused on bringing business leaders attention outward (enabling new ‘big picture’ mindsets and opportunities for growing meaningful cross functional peer relationships) and inward (leveraging the PI for individual growth and self-awareness and identifying personal leadership values). All with the goal of establishing a strong internal pipeline of Enterprise Leaders who, by the time they are sitting around the Executive Committee table, are already operating as a team and in the best interest of Bose and our Customers.
