The Use of Action-Based Teams to Drive Cultural Change

Oftentimes, organizations rely on HR or a select group of leaders to implement culture changes within their organization. This results in less buy-in from the rest of the business; or if effective, will be a top-down push from executive leadership to make change happen. Instead of pushing, we drove change for Tyson Fresh Meats through a pull model by implementing action-based teams to execute on key cultural initiatives. These teams consisted of cross-functional mid-level management employees. This model was designed to create strong buy-in while also creating a strategic learning experience for the mid-level leaders. In this session, we will share the initiation, journey, learnings, and outcomes from this cultural experiment.
