Tracie Sponenberg is the Chief People Officer for The Granite Group, a service and distribution business headquartered in Concord, NH, with 500 employees and 40 locations. Tracie has gained a broad background across a wide range of industries in more than 20 years in HR, with her career focused on working with CEOs to develop strategic people strategies. She began her career in HR while in college, interning with a global public transportation company but found she could have the most impact on the business in smaller companies. Tracie has a BA in Psychology from Holy Cross and a MA-HRM from FSU. She is Co-Founder of DisruptHRNH and HR Rebooted, a member of SHRM’s Special Expertise Panel and teaches a SHRM Certification course. A bookworm and introvert who never spoke in class until college, she recently started getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. Though she now realizes she won’t die speaking in public, to the media, or on camera, she still hates parties and crowds – but loves shoes (especially Toms) and espresso. When not road tripping, heading to Disney World, or hanging out with her family, you can usually find her at a local coffee shop or slowly running 5Ks with her husband.
